Scope and objectives
The discipline of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is concerned with the understanding and mitigation of the effects of electromagnetic interference. The electromagnetic compatibility of electronic equipment is required by law in the EU and many other countries.
The objective of the EMC Technical and Professional Network is to provide a forum for all EMC related issues. The scope of the network includes:
-
Awareness, education and training
-
Measurements and test methods
-
Phenomena including lightning, EMP, ESD, radio, data, power and impulsive sources
-
Immunity / vulnerability, emissions, shielding, absorption, interference, coupling, grounding, filtering, etc.
-
Standards and legislation
-
Design tools and techniques, modelling and simulation
-
Electromagnetic dosimetry
-
Safety
The network aims to further knowledge in EMC by organising a number of national and local events and provide online resources for practising technicians, engineers, students and managers.
