Some links to other London engineering and scientific organisations

If you know of others that would be of use to London IEE members, please send them by e-mail to the  Webmaster

  • Hampstead Scientific Society
The Society exists to promote locally an interest in all branches of science, and to cater for the layman as well as for those with specialist knowledge. Although we are based in Hampstead (in the borough of Camden, London, England, UK) we have members from various areas of London, and even some from out of town. Hopefully with the Web site we may get visitors from overseas.

  • The Cybernetics Society
The Cybernetics Society holds scientific meetings, conferences, and social events, and engages in other activities to encourage public understanding of science and to extend and disseminate knowledge of cybernetics and its associated disciplines.

  • IMECHE London
The IMechE is the United Kingdom's qualifying body for mechanical engineers and has been the home of Mechanical Engineers for over 150 years. Around 75,000 engineers world-wide are members.

  • IMECHE Greater London Region Young Members

  • Signal and Electrical Engineers’ Technical Society
They offer information, lectures and visits based around railway signalling and mass transit systems. The origins in the society are based on London Underground but not limited to them.

  • The Royal Society
The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK dedicated to promoting excellence in science. It plays an influential role in national and international science policy and supports developments in science engineering and technology in a wide range of ways

  • The Royal Academy of Engineering
As Britain’s national academy for engineering, it brings together the country’s most eminent engineers from all disciplines to promote excellence in the science, art and practice of engineering.

  • Royal Institution of Great Britain
For over 200 years, the Royal Institution has been 'diffusing science for the common purposes of life'. A range of activities takes place under one roof, from schools lectures to providing a forum for the general public, through to a heritage programme, an arts-science initiative, a media centre and state-of-the-art chemistry labs. The Royal Institution is a home for everyone interested in science, irrespective of whether they have a scientific background or not.
