Chairman's Welcome
It is a great pleasure to become Chair of the Yorkshire Branch at a time when the Institution is reshaping itself by merger with the IIE, and to have the opportunity of influencing the effect on the new local organisation, whatever its name or form.
While the reshaping is under way, a recently enlarged and enthusiastic Committee will provide a varied programme, with enhanced mainstream events to supplement the meetings of the ever-active Senior Members and Younger Members. We are also seeking to reach out to towns and cities in the region which have had less attention than they deserve.
In addition to providing interesting events and meetings, we will plan to fulfil other IEE objectives, such as supporting individuals by assisting with mentoring and developing University links, and to improve schools liaison.
These various activities will be listed on this website, and I look forward to meeting you when you attend them.
