The IET Knowledge Network

THE IET KNOWLEDGE NETWORK (KN) – integrated knowledge sharing

Following extensive consultations with members of our 2 founding Institutions, a new concept was born: the IET Knowledge Network. It works in a number of dimensions
  1. near to where you live or work
  2. by technical specialism
  3. to meet career stage requirements.

For further details of the new Local Network structure there is
an Excel Spreadsheet available detailing the Post Codes covered
and a Word Document with a detailed structure plan

Member groups operating in these different spheres frequently interact and work together for mutual benefit.

Become an active member and take advantage of the many knowledge sharing opportunities available to you throughout the year.

IET Local Networks (LN) and Regional Networks (RN) – near to where you live or work

Events and activities in this brochure have been organised largely by member volunteers from the former IEE Branches and IIE Regions, who are now working together in the IET Local Networks and Regional Networks that replace the former member groupings. Local Networks are the primary operating units, but for larger scale events, the Regional Network (guided and funded by sponsoring LNs) co-ordinates and organises. Local Networks and Regional Networks also seek to work co-operatively with other IET Networks.

IET Technical & Professional Networks (TPNs) – offering specialist technical insights

TPNs provide access to specialist technical knowledge, replacing the IEE Professional Networks and IIE Special Interest Groups. They offer a wide range of conferences, seminars and events on a varying scale. As part of the new Knowledge Network they will increasingly explore synergies across broad technical sectors and with the LNs and RNs. Visit: http://www.theiet.org/tpn/

IET Career Stage Networks (CSNs) – supporting members at key stages

Career Stage Networks for our younger and retired members recognise that knowledge needs differ at the start of a career and in retirement. However, events they organise will be open to all. Again, the intention is to explore synergies with the other IET Networks, co-hosting events and working together in mutual reinforcement. Visit: http://www.theiet.org/circuit/

The opportunities are many and you are encouraged to participate as fully as you wish across the entire range of the IET Knowledge Network.
